A lot of the topics from other classmates’ were very similar to what I researched. I appreciated the posts when it expressed the difficulties we might face as upcoming teachers. It is true that many children, especially the younger ones, might not appreciate technology as much as the older students. Many of the posts also included helpful websites that could possibly aid in the process of becoming a teacher.
I would really love to learn how to actually teach students how to use technology. This class offered a great insight to how teachers will use given technologies, but I’m nervous about how to actually teach the students how to use them. The 8 year-old mind is much different from my 19 year-old mind, so I would appreciate learning how to tap into that brainwave and help them understand how to use technology.
I do not see my future of educational technology being a difficult thing to achieve. If I do come across some issues, I will (hopefully) form a bond with my co-workers and ask them for help or advice. If the school does not have the programs I am looking to teach, I will look at my options in regards to school budget, and how much I could apply to the field.

When I am a teacher, preferably for the 4th grade, I will need to create quizzes for the subjects that I’m teaching. There are great websites for creating quizzes and forming games for the students, such as http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/. Another helpful resource is to create crossword puzzles on http://www.crosswordpuzzlegames.com/create.html. That could be used as an extra credit assignment once the student is done with the quiz.
There are great ways to apply the Internet to the classroom. On Ilovethatteachingidea.com, there are helpful tips for teachers and assignment ideas that can be used. There are tons of ideas, from “End of the Year” activities to “ideas for keeping your students in line!”
Excel will come in handy for teachers of any grade. Most use Excel for grade books, but a lot of other ideas for excel include worksheets and quizzes too. Excel is an awesome organization tool. It helps keep tabs on mathematical equations that would be a hassle to manage otherwise.

My PowerPoint 2 project definitely fits in with the requirements from Chapter 8. All of the spelling is correct, and the content is easy to read. The navigation starts with the title and leads to each of the slides. The design is simple and easy to comprehend. The development is also consistent with the main ideas.
Peripherals can be applied when I want to print out something for the students, or take pictures for the presentation. Scanning can also be done when trying to put pictures on a presentation or other information, like charts and graphs. A non-computer audio-visual technology, like a cell phone, can be used to transport information from the phone to the computer.
Using PowerPoint can definitely help when trying to create a presentation for the class, as well as creating a game, such as jeopardy. Learning how to construct my custom jeopardy game will definitely be useful when I am a teacher, and I need to get the students involved in the material.
